My R3240 is now about 16 months old. It has worked fine, but now I
think I need a new keyboard. For some time the e has been a bit flaky.
Bu the other day I really messed up. Somehow I managed to get the cap
off the r. There is a tiny little black plastic thing in there that
also came off. I got the r back on, but sort of only halfway, like it
is tilted. The tiny little black plastic thing is the problem, I think.
I can't figure out how to get it completely back in.
So I need either expert instructions in how to fix an R3240 keyboard,
which I assume is the same as on all Compaq R3000 computers, or a
replacement keyboard. I'm not afraid to take things apart -- I've
already added RAM and swapped the hard disk on this computer for a
faster one -- but if I get a replacement keyboard I also need some tips
on how to install it.
Suggestions welcome.
